Flush Deck Hatches

• STANDARD: CLEAR OPENING CAST SIZE: 600mm2. Where required, the Clear-Opening size can be modified by sectioning as-cast frame: reducing or increasing to client requirements:

•  Width & Depth: Generally between 600-1200mm Square or Rectangular – IDEALLY: Hinging via the long edge where possible.

• Coaming – CAST 601 / Primary Ingot Aluminium.
• Boot Hinge/s– CAST 601 / Primary Ingot Aluminium.
• Hatch – 5mm Plate with extruded hatch box/bracing.
• Internal Skin – 2mm Skin.

Custom fabricated to client requirements, Generally between 600-1200mm Square or Rectangular – IDEALLY: Hinging via the long edge where possible.

• Outer Frame – 10mm Plate main body with 3mm angle gutter & seal return, individually manufactured then fully weld fused together.
• Boot Hinge/s– CAST 601 / Primary Ingot ALUMINIUM [regardless of frame/hatch material, hinges remain Aluminium].
• Hatch – Steel 4mm Plate / SS: 3 or 4mm Plate dependant on size/application, with 3mm hatch box/bracing in all cases.
• Internal Skin – 0.9mm Skin, Steel Zinc Primed, SS 316.

• The Aluminium construction hatch carries type approval [T/A] for DNV GL rules for classification – High speed light craft and for a design pressure of not more than 40 kPa, for a Max. clear opening: 800 mm x 800 mm @ 4-pin closure. Copies of TA can be supplied on request.
• For greater pressure heads or “over-size” items, options are available: please make specific enquiry.

• Central locking via polished T-Bar Stainless Steel handle standard INSIDE – outside as per OPTIONS BELOW, operating multiple closing pins – generally Min 4 to Max 10, as required by sizing/pressure: All pins and components inside the door are Stainless Steel construction.
• Flush Deck Hatches are supplied with:
  2 x SS Gas stay to hold open, to generally approx. 95deg opening angle.
  1 x Boot hinge as standard, additional hinge/s added as required by sizing.
• Weld-In fitment [flush] is normal, however or Bolt-In fitment format available by addition of welded flanges if/as required.
• Various finishes available: Raw / Passivated / Primed / Powder Coated / Wet Sprayed.
• *Materials can be mixed/matched, ie: Aluminium coaming with SS Hatch / Steel Frame with Aluminium Hatch, HOWEVER:
• Regardless of frame/hatch material, Boot Hinges remain CAST 601 / Primary Ingot Aluminium.
• Aluminium or Zinc steel Internal skins can be switched for SS Skins in all cases.
• Aluminium Hatches: Extruded EPDM Seal.
• Steel & SS Hatches: Extruded Silicone Seal.

• Bisquare: External operation via recessed socket in face of hatch: requiring the [remote handle, 1 item supplied per every 2 hatches] which is stowed separately. See drawing: KFHAWT_EBS
• T-Bar: Lift-up T-Bar handle, which slides though hatch to sit flush in recess of hatch face when not in use. NOTE, this requires the internal handle to move up & down accordingly. See drawing: KFHAWT _TBH

• Lift out [no hinge, no gas stays] variation, generally only used for smaller sized or not often accessed hatches. See drawing: KFHAWT_TBH_LO

• A set of 2 x SS angle trim frames, along with EITHER to finish around external handle choice:
• A round bezel/reverse top-hat to finish around the Bisquare.
• An SS cnc cut rectangular plate to finish around the T-Handle.
• See pic provided – this is also illustrated on the Lift-Out option drawing, but can be applied to all Flush Hatch formats.

• Additional remote handle/s for Bisquare.
• Safety kit to [1 only] gas strut: has to be manually operated to allow strut to compress/hatch to close.
• Deadlock utilising Internal Locking Snib ONLY.
• Internal Padlock Hasp.
• Mounting point for [client supplied] proximity switch for monitoring open/closed status.
